There a lot of foods and spices that can help us control cancer. Aside from broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and carrots, garlic can also help cancer patients. According to studies, cancer has immune-enhancing allium compounds called dialyl sultides that appear to increase the activity of immune cells. Immune cells are cells that fight cancer and help break down cancer causing substances indirectly. Also, these substances help block carcinogens from entering cells and slow tumor development. There are also studies that linked garlic as well as onions, leeks, and chives to lower risk of stomach and colon cancer.

 The said studies were analyzed by Dr Lenore Arab, professor of epidemiology and nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill schools of public health and medicine and colleagues analyzed a number of studies. The findings were published in the October 2000 issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. The report states that those people who consume raw or cooked garlic regularly face about half the risk of stomach cancer and two-thirds the risk of colorectal cancer as compared to those people who eat little or none. These studies did not show garlic supplements had the same effect. The report claimed that garlic may help prevent stomach cancer because it has anti-bacterial effects against a bacterium, Helicobacter pylori. This bacterium is found in the stomach and known to promote cancer there.

Have you ever thought that carrots can stave off cancer and can inhibit cancer cell growth or reduce tumor size? If not, then you have to believe me because I am stating a fact. This orange-colored vegetable we often used as small sword is beneficial and useful. According to the study conducted by the National Cancer Institute, carrots contain a large amount of beta carotene. Beta carotene helps reduce a number of cancers including those that affect the lung, mouth, throat, stomach, intestine, bladder, prostate, and breast.
Researches in the past claimed that beta carotene can cause cancer, although it's still yet to be proven. In fact, the Danish Institute of Agricultural Sciences (DIAS) declared that falcarinol, a substance found in carrots, is found to reduce the risk of cancer. The institution found out that isolated cancer cells grow more slowly when exposed to falcarinol. However, this substance is a polyacethylen, so it is critical not to cook the carrots.
Since you already know that carrots can cure cancer, you can now get your carrots in your refrigerator. Wash them, and start biting from its tip. Just don't eat too much because your skin might turn orange. Or else, you're not different from an albino.

It is said that raw foods or uncooked foods are good alternatives for cancer diet. It is also considered as a certified vegetarian diet since raw foods may consist only of selected fruits and veggies, which contain nutrients that can basically help eliminate cancer cells. Though it is said that most nutrients are more available when vegetables are cooked, it is still suitable for cancer patients to eat veggies and fruits that are either broiled or juiced.
People who have cancer can choose from vegetable juice to steamed. Another good thing about it is that cancer patients can consume vegetables more faster than eating them, because they only need to drink it. If you're looking for another reason to eat vegetables, a new study will show you that broccoli and cauliflower have natural ingredients that may reduce the risk of developing hereditary cancers. It was discovered that these widely consumed cruciferous vegetables - so called because their four-petal flowers resemble crosses - are abundant in sulforaphane (SFN), a compound which had previously been shown to inhibit some cancers in rodents induced by carcinogens - substances or agents external to the body. The investigations, however, focused on whether SFN might inhibit the occurrence of hereditary cancers - those arising from one's genetic makeup.
According to an estimate by the American Cancer Society, more than two-thirds of cancer may be prevented through lifestyle modification and nearly one-third of these cancer occurrences can be attributed to diet alone. The research has substantiated the connection between diet and cancer prevention. It was made clear that the expression of cancer-related genes can be influenced by chemopreventive compounds in the things we eat. Chemopreventive properties prevent, stop, or reverse the development of cancer. SFN produces its cancer preventive effects by inducing apoptosis (programmed cell death) and inhibiting proliferation of the tumors; however, it was not clear what mechanism SFN employs to accomplish this.

 Food is essential to life. Yet to a cancer patient, the emphasis is even twice (if thrice is too much for a diet). Anyway, anyone who has the disease or who has a family member with cancer knows pretty well that diet counts. To be exact, every food intake is critical to the life of a cancer patient. So watch out! Before you attempt to swallow that spoonful of food you're holding at, try reading the rest of the article.
Cancer cells including the various treatments for the disease weaken the immune system of the body. As such, a cancer patient who had just undergone a medical procedure, let's say chemotherapy, should be aware that he cannot just take anything he wants. Of course, his appetite may tolerate any food, but definitely not his body.

Americans and Europeans are very susceptible to skin cancer. In recent studies, a very large percentage of skin cancer occurrences happen in the United States and in Europe. This is not unlikely, since most Americans and Europeans take advantage of the warm sun heat, whenever they can. So, what can you do if you got skin cancer?
Skin cancer is not just from the sun's rays, per se. You can also have skin cancer if you are too fond of tanning beds and tanning salons. Also, abnormal skin marks and moles cam be the reason for the development of the skin cancer. But really, you can prevent skin cancer, if you only observe proper skin care. You cannot just treat your skin with too much chemicals or sun exposure because the rays are way harmful for your skin to absorb. The skin remains to be the largest organ of the human body and it's external. So, protect your skin from factors that are not healthy. To be healthy, you need to also be healthy, internally.
If you have skin cancer, whether it's curable or not, there are certain foods that are required to strengthen your system. You can make your own regular meals to also be delicious. For patients, you can eat veal, any fish of your choice, slices of beef, the chicken breast part, and a slice of bread, preferably the white one. So, food for this illness need not be stale. You can eat all the good stuff, of course. Just remember to cook your food in the healthiest way possible.

I know all the other diets that several cancer diseases require. I also know for a fact that daily seafood servings would really lessen the risk of cancer in our bodies. Soy, organic foods, and whole grain foods are also a good diet for preventing cancer diseases. So, what must people with bone cancer refrain themselves from eating?
There have been studies about bone cancer that really emphasize that phosphorus is one of the major reasons why bone cancer patient's bones get more delicate and brittle. The typical American diet would allow an American to absorb more phosphorus than calcium. Thus, this would make them more susceptible to bone cancer. The best healthy meals for bone cancer patients do not include any kind of meat. Bone cancer patients should also refrain from drinking unhealthy drinks or carbonated drinks.  There are so many foods that can greatly decrease the development of cancer in our cells. Whichever the type of cancer, there are always healthy foods that can protect and strengthen our bodies' immune system. It's not actually the food per se, but, the ingredients and compounds found in certain foods that are very helpful in combating deadly diseases. It's also how we cook food that lessens the probability of cancer.

I began eating organic foods when I learned that fast food ingredients contain too much fat and cholesterol. At first, I was hesitant to change my unhealthy diet since I thrive on very tasty and quick meals. But, as I got around my organic diet, I began to really love it.  Aside from talking about what foods to eat, let us discuss the foods that you need to avoid if you have cancer. Generally, foods that make you fat can worsen your illness or increase the chances of you getting cancer.
Meats that are high in fat can cause cancer as much as worsen it. These types of food are not ideal to eat especially when it is deep fried. Actually, anything deep fried is bad for a cancer patient's health. This is because anything fatty is not advisable if you want to get cured. Stay away from red meat. Red meat has carcinogens that can increase your risk of cancer. Cheese, yogurt, butter, margarine and sauces are all high in fats so you'd better stay away from them.
It is also proven that eating cooked food may also worsen your health. Subjecting food to heat may create mutagenic substances in our food that can cause cancer through continuous consumption. It is suggested that cancer patients or those who want to prevent cancer, take a little or none of cooked food, plenty of fruits and vegetables and some raw food from animals that doesn't need to be cooked, like sashimi or egg yolk.

Cereal is an important food in our lives. Not only is it a breakfast staple, but it can also help us in the fight against a terrible serial killer: Colon cancer. Colon cancer is fast becoming a common disease in the Western world, and many believe that this is due to the over-consumption of foods high in fat and sugar.
How can cereals help? Well, cereal is high in dietary fiber, which is known as "Nature's broom" because fiber helps waste materials in the colon move and exit well. They provide bulk and roughage, and in turn sweep up any waste that gets in their way, thus preventing infection by decaying food items in our colon.
