Women And Lung Cancer

I have always perceived breast cancer to be the leading cancer disease acquired by women. But, I was very surprised to hear that lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death of women in America. I was like, hey, where did that come from? Sadly, this is the veracity of the situation and there is very little that we can do to stop it. I say this because even the women who are not smoking cigarettes are being diagnosed with lung cancer. Could it be that the air around us is too polluted with tobacco smoke that even the women who do not smoke develop lung cancer?

Well, that's not entirely the answer to this lung cancer colloquy. The sex of a person is also a participating factor. It was stated in one of the major lung cancer meetings that adult women are 1.5 times more plausible to develop lung cancer than the adult men. Although, lung cancer is also a leading cause of cancer death for men, it cannot be denied that the women aren't at all exempted.

A good way to prevent the increasing number of women developing lung cancer is to make them fully aware of this deadly disease. The women should know the impact of gender, sex, and health on the progression, treatment and development of lung cancer. The smoking women should also be aware that they are thrice more susceptible to the disease than the women who do not smoke at all. So, a first step to prevent lung cancer, quit smoking cigarettes.
