The study lasted for 15 years and in that time 301 of the subjects became victims of ovarian cancer. These women were among the least frequent tea drinkers. Of the women, those who drank at least two cups a day were estimated to be at risk 46% less than women who drank none.
The study didn't cover the types of tea as most of the women drank black tea. Polyphenols in black tea are suspected to be the anti-cancer active ingredient.
